When our nation fails us - both leadership and so much of the populace - all we have is each other. We have to hold on tight to the good people we have. Our only chance of making it thru the dark times ahead is with one another.
But despite how weird it will get out there (and it will), remember this: NOTHING REALLY CHANGES. That is, you still have permission to be who you want to be. You still have permission to love as you want to love. You still have permission to believe what you want to believe, to value what you want to value, to like (or dislike) what you want to like (or dislike). YOU STILL HAVE PERMISSION TO BE TRUE TO YOURSELF. And don’t let anyone, anyone disrespect or discourage or discredit you. Stand strong and true. And whatever you face, let that strengthen you. And know there are others who will stand strong with you.
We WILL get through this. Together. And we must remain optimistic that these next four years will inspire positive changes next time.
