well now I’m crying over legacy and memory and how our work and mere existences really can provide so much for the people we’ll never even get to know. An honor to create and share
WAIT THIS HAS ME CRYING. Nate this is capturing something unexplainable. I’m trying to type it out in the comment and it is NOT WORKING cause I’m feeling it too much in my heart. That panel of the guy with the scarf waving at you? AUGH
Also I’m so jealous you got to see Importance of Being Ernest with Ncuti Gatwa!! He must have been so incredible
At risk of oversharing: I don't know if this resonates, but this is actually how my gender works about 75% of the time - I have sort of an outward-facing gender that varies plus an inward persona always drawn from a fictional character or historical figure. I've "been" Oscar too, but more frequently his lover/friend/keeper-of-the-flame Robert Baldwin Ross, who is buried with him at Pere Lachaise. I pretty much never see portrayals of that sort of dual awareness, so thank you.
This post is poetry, to me. Like it's prose and a comic obviously but it is poetry also. It says so much in so little, and it's so specific, and it's such a feeling, that it can't not be poetry.
My favourite Oscar bonus fact is a story from his time at university when four other students harassed him and he just beat them up all at once because while he was so flamboyant and witty people always forget he also was 6'3" and trained boxing.
left out the part where i couldn't make it through reading that quote because i choked up!

I’m in Canada and going to see it at the local Cineplex on Feb 20 with a bunch of friends. Pretty excited!
this reminds me of the Van Gogh episode of Doctor Who T-T
we love you, Oscar
Should’ve known from the title that I’d be in tears by the end!! Thanks for sharing this deeply poignant and wonderfully goofy comic 💖
This is beautiful.

You might benefit from looking into plurality/multiplicity if you haven't already.
Given his quote about ‘the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about’, he’d be happy to be remembered at all.
And was that the Ncuti Gatwa Earnest you saw? Hope you liked it!

oof, right in the feels
Thank you for this.
I’m in love with this one
[Oscar liked that]
Beautiful!
I blubbed at that grave, 29 years ago. Thanks for the memory 💜
Oscar would really like that, I suspect. He'd be tickled and think it all marvelously fun and silly.
