Generations of my family have lived in this country since before the American Revolution. They were immigrants. They fought bravely and some died. But never for a government like this.
This is not the first time you've made me cry, but damn, dude. My great grandma refused to sign the Cherokee tribal rolls at the end of The Trail because she didn't want to be on a list to get rounded up the next time they wanted to force people to move...both her parents had died on the way and she was still a kid. She married a Welsh immigrant and moved away from tribal lands as soon as she could due to that fear.
This is our world:) OUR world. The world of you and the world of me and the world that all of us are going to make better. This is a moment of change and damn will we change it for the better:) i have faith in us:)
Thank you, Nate. This was much needed at this time.
I love your sketches. I wanted to sketch in response to this real world horror, too. To write. To say something. The full motivation and follow-through eluded me. It's encouraging to see yourself do the same, and to keep the linework so raw and candid. Maybe I'll follow through, next time I get the impulse?
Your work has inspired me since I was just 13 years old and full of bottled up anger. Nimona taught me to choose compassion. I'm grateful that you're still here and that now you are teaching me to stick with hope.

Thoughts for everyone in the US right now. Particularly anyone who is an immigrant, or looks like they might be one…
Beautiful! Fuck ICE!
The world is so terrifying right now, but if we stand strong we can face it together.

Hearing about all the people protesting made me so hopeful I could cry. Thank you for this, Nate
